OUR HISTORY
With almost four decades of experience across various trades under his belt, our founder Matthew Purcell and his wife Sabrina, children April, Alexander, Andrea, and Melissa, and Purcell’s nephew James Lareau, have come together to open Purcell Appliance Center — a parent company of Purcell Service LLC founded by Matthew Purcell. Matthew was raised in Salem, IL and raised in the plumbing trade but soon realized HVAC was the better choice. Altogether, Matthew has 39 years of HVAC, installation experience, and Appliance repair to go along. Matthew's wife Sabrina has 30+ years of experience in banking, bookkeeping, and customer service, and 31 years of experience raising 4 children and nine grandchildren. April shares the role of President of the company with her dad and is the new driving force of the company. April has a BA in early childhood education and is currently completing her master’s degree (MBA). Alexander, our son, is Vice President of HVAC Service. Andrea, our daughter, is a stay-at-home mom and professional bakery artisan. Melissa, our oldest daughter, handles all our inbound calls, and scheduling, is the Vice President of Operations Carlyle, IL. location. James Lareau, our nephew, is Head of Service and Vice President Operations of Central Illinois.
Matthew believes he can offer customers more personalized attention than he could while working for a larger company. Purcell’s has a different approach with working with customers and is pleased to be able to focus more on getting you, the customer, what you want. These needs are met through coordinated programs focusing on domestic violence, homelessness, education, volunteer and community empowerment, and individual emergency need fulfillment. Our employees are required to maintain a driver’s license, refrain from legal marijuana use, successful maintain a DOT physical card, successfully pass a drug screening (including legal marijuana use) and maintain that annually.
